OBITUARIES

Charles A. Starkey, age 84, passed away November 18, 2021 in Sagamore Hills. Born July 18, 1937 in Unionville, Charles was a son of Ralph & Marella (Ryder-Pierce) Starkey. Charles worked and retired from Rockwell/Arc Rubber in Geneva as a maintenance man. He served in the US Army from 1954 – 1957. Charles received medals as a Parachutist Ladge/National Defense Service; Marksman/Sharpshooter.

Charles lived in Ashtabula for 50 years and was a member of Geneva United Methodist Church. He was a football coach for Ashtabula Midget League, bowled at St. Angelo’s and was always tinkering with something.

Survivors: Children: Paul (Missy) Starkey of Parma Heights; Carson (Homer) Dales of Ashtabula; Richard (Laura) Starkey of California; and Timothy Starkey of Parma. Grandchildren: Charles, Chucky, Kyle, Whitney, Shawn, Little Paul, Roy and Jonathan; Great Grandchildren: Elaina & Evan. Siblings: Russell J. Starkey; LaVonna Ickes both of Geneva.
