Obituary For Claude William "Bill" Stokes
Claude "Bill" William Stokes, age 70, passed away June 30th at his residence. Bill was born in Bay City Michigan on April 1st, 1948. He spent most of his life in Northeast Ohio. He graduated from Ledgemont High School and joined the Marine Corp. He attended Lakeland Community College. Bill was a Geneva resident with his wife of 41 years. He retired from Tradesmen International and while there was devoted to his job. He was rewarded for his dedication to this company many times during his career. He was awarded many vacations and acknowledgements. He and Mary enjoyed traveling together and have many wonderful memories of seeing different parts of the world. Bill loved all sports, and followed all of the Cleveland home teams. Browns, Cavs and the Indians. He would keep stats on the teams and enjoy analyzing the players and teams. He also enjoyed reading and playing chess. He loved spending time with his family, especially, Mary, his wife, who has always been his best friend.
Survived by: Wife; Mary (Dickman); Sons; Bryan of Warren and Jesse of Geneva. Also his beloved dog, Annie; Brothers; David Furtaw of Painesville, Virgil Furtaw (Regina) of Thompson; Sisters; Mae Geistle (Frank), of Madison; Patricia Carlucci (Antonio), Painesville; Julia Johnson (Thomas) of Painesville. Preceded by: His infant son, John; Mother; Frances (Whitehead) and Father; Claude Stokes, Sr.; Stepfather; John Furtaw; Sister; Lynn Marie Clifton, who passed away in 2017.
Celebration of Life Service: 6-8:00 P.M., Friday, July 13, 2018 at Walker Funeral Home, 828 Sherman St., Geneva, with Military Honors at 7:00 P.M. by the Geneva V.F.W. Post #6846 Color Guard.
