Obituary For Damon Simpson Washington

Damon Washington, beloved father, husband, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on February 23, 2024 at the age of 89. He was born on November 7, 1934, in Pond Gap, West Virginia, to his parents, Goldie M. Dillard and Prince Edward Washington.

Damon was a cherished member of his family and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was a loving brother to his surviving sisters Ethel Shaffer and Helen Brown and deceased brothers; Floyd, George, Charles (Tots), Willard (Bill), Gaylon (Doodle), Victor (Dick), Dennis (Bub), and Hilton Milford (Hilk).

Damon was a proud father to his surviving daughter Coline Rupe and her husband, Danny Rupe, & loving husband to his late wife, Sue Washington and proud father to his late son, Carl Washington.

Damon was a devoted grandfather to Kellie Ritenour, Caroline Rupe, late Kyla Jacobson, Nicole Morgan, Christopher Burt, Lisa Snitzer, and Misty Valverde. He was also a beloved great-grandfather to Brooke, Collin, and Landon Ritenour, Hannah Marie Jacobson, and Delia Rupe.

He lived a remarkable life and touched the hearts of so many. At the age of 89, he leaves behind a legacy of family, love, wisdom, and kindness that will forever be cherished.

Damon was truly a guiding light in our lives, and his presence will be deeply missed. His stories, laughter, and the lessons he taught us will forever be treasured.

Rest in peace, knowing that your memory will live on in our hearts ❤️ forever.

A celebration of Damon's life will be held at Walker Funeral Home, 828 Sherman St., Geneva on Monday, March 4, 2024 from 6:30 - 8:30 PM.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 1166 Lake Avenue, Ashtabula.
