Obituary For Darlene L. Walton
Darlene L. Walton, 77, passed 08/13/2026 in Mentor. Born 06/02/1949 in Geneva, she was a daughter of Edward and Ethel (Watts) Bates. Darlene was the administrative assistant at Lakeland Nursing Home. Having lived all her life in Geneva, she loved to spend time with her family, playing the piano, square dancing, walking and gardening.
Left to cherish her memory, are her children: Deanna (Doug) Greenwood and Lloyd Walton; Grandchildren: Curtis and Kyle Greenwood; Brother: Gary (Darlene) Bates.
She was preceded by her husband, Cecil and her parents.
Visitation: 08/18/2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Walker Funeral Home, 828 Sherman St., Geneva.
Graveside service following at Trumbull Cemetery with Chaplain Charles Pahlman officiating.

To share a memory is difficult because there are so many good ones. For 20 plus years Darlene kept Lakeland management and staff happy with pay checks and the creditors paid. She was instrumental in the success of this organization. I will always be thankful she stayed when I started with the business. Darlene was kind, considerate and a confidant who will always be remembered. William Austin
