Obituary For Elaine Rose (Yapell) Testerman

Elaine Rose Testerman passed away peacefully in her home and surrounded by family Thursday, January 2, 2020, at 11:06 pm at the age of 75.

Elaine was born June 17, 1944, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Ed and Ella Yapell. She lived a life full of loving adventure and always brought the light of joy wherever she went. Many who had the pleasure of knowing this beautiful woman can attest to the unconditional love and the warmth felt in her presence. She was always smiling, full of laughter and always spoke the truth of heart.

Elaine was a true creative and she let her unique nature shine through her love of gardening, landscaping, cooking, home design and her sense of fashion. A true lover of the outdoors, you could always count on her feeding the birds, soaking in the sun and finding peace by the water.

She had a knack for transforming any space into a sanctuary of love and always knew how to uplift her family and close friends. She truly was a best friend to those she loved, an amazing mother to her children and the most incredible grandmother. As a member of the Geneva Church of Christ, she was a woman of faith and family, and she would never let you forget the depth of this love.

While her time here may have ended, the imprint of her life and fierce love will continue to lead us home and her memory will be in our hearts forever.

Elaine was preceded by her parents Ed & Ella Yapell; her brother Ed Yapell; and her beloved Carl L. Testerman.

She is survived by her children Carl J. and Lana (Johnson); her grandchildren Amanda, Amy & Anthony (Campofredano), Tiffany (Cubacub), CJ, Steffany, Priscilla (Johnson) & Kayli (Mihalick); her great grandchildren Alexis, Paige, Joey & Gabe; her special cousin Janet Stevens; her son & daughter-in-laws Lester (Johnson), Sheila & Dean (Mihalick); and many others that called her "mom."

The family will be holding a private celebration of life. Please, make any donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, as she was a supporter and kept them in her thoughts 'til the very end.
