Elizabeth “Betty” G. Nugent 1920 ~ 2020

Elizabeth “Betty” G. Nugent, age 100 1/2, passed away at Geneva Village on October 12, 2020 surrounded by her family. She was born on March 24, 1920 to James and Anna (Mayerhoffer) Weisbarth in Cleveland. Betty lived most of her life in Geneva, Ohio. She worked at Advanced Technology making automotive headlamp assemblies. She also worked as a short order chef at the Rhapsody Lounge.

Betty was a lifelong member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Geneva VFW, Post #6846. She loved to bake pies, cakes and cookies, always from scratch. Betty enjoyed parties and she was the best listener. She also loved Dean Martin, playing cards, crocheting and Polka music. Betty also liked the Cleveland Browns and Indians.

Survivors include her Children: Jim (Helen) Nugent of Galena, OH; Dan (Robin) Nugent of Geneva; Grandchildren: Jim Nugent; David Nugent; Elizabeth Maas; Laura Mohr; David Nugent; Shawn Nugent; Eric Nugent; Kristine McLaws; Michael Chillemi and Melissa McConnell. 17 Great Grandchildren.

Preceded in death by Parents: Son: Jeffrey Nugent; Brothers: Edward and Robert Weisbarth.

Calling Hours will be held at Walker Funeral Home, 828 Sherman St. on Sunday, October 18, 2020 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.

Private Family Service will take place at a future date.

Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Geneva, Ohio.
