Obituary For Emma Grey Dodge

Emma G. Dodge, age 70 of Ashtabula, passed January 2, 2022. She was born in Wise County, VA on April 16, 1951 to Danial and Mary (Brummitt) Luther.

Emma had previously worked in housekeeping at the Traveler’s Lodge in Austinburg. She was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God in Ashtabula and enjoyed fishing, playing pool and bingo.

She is survived by 5 children: Gary (Lisa) Dodge of SC, Lola (David) Newsome of Ashtabula, Virgil (Amy) Dodge of Geneva, Steven (Brenda Krince) Dodge of WI and Michael Dodge of Ashtabula; 17 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and a sister Theresa Deel.

Preceding her is her husband Virgil who passed away in 1999; a son Mark in 2011; grandson Thomas; 4 brothers Alex, Kenneth, Andy and Eursley; and 2 sisters Eva Hiltabidel and Velma Meade.

A Celebration of Life will take place 9:00 AM Saturday, January 8, 2022 at the Pentecostal Church of God, 2201 Cook Rd. in Ashtabula. Friends and family are encouraged to share your favorite memories of Emma. Rev. Kenneth Roberts will be officiating. Interment will be Saybrook Cemetery at a later date.

    With life comes pain and sorrow but Emma always found a time to laugh. She loved her family and we loved her. She is now in a place of joy and peace that we could only hope to enjoy one day. Even though miles can separate you does not mean they were not thought of or not loved. You will be missed my Emma I loved you.
