Franklin “Frank” Taft, age 86, of Geneva, passed away peacefully at home in Harpersfield Township on Sunday, October 4, 2020 with his family by his side. Frank was born November 2, 1933 in Linesville, PA to the late Clair and Florence (Wheeler) Taft.

Frank served in the US Army. He was honorably discharged from the military in 1962 with a Good Conduct Medal. Frank married Barbara Ann Beatty on September 21, 1958 in Geneva. Their marriage of 62 years was a full one.

He was employed many years as a Loom Operator at Lindsay Wire. He also previously worked at Springwood Products, Beatty Florist, and Holiday Bell Florist. Frank painted houses inside and out as a second job.

A selfless and humble man, Frank had many passions with his family being the biggest. Frank loved to dance, play cards, and chauffer his witty wife Barb to wherever she wanted to go. He also enjoyed bowling, horseshoes, skydiving, snowmobiling, gardening, golfing, roller skating, watching ATV races, operating radio control cars, CB & Ham radio, playing games, and building puzzles. He was a member of the Jaycee’s, Pine Lake Raceway, and the Pennline Grange.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Barbara of Geneva; daughters Valerie (Bob) Proper of Madison, Jannette (Rory) Wright of Harpersfield Township, and Autumn (Nick) Flock of Canton; nine grandchildren John (Trista), Andrew (Jessica), Moriah, Rory II, Mason (Melody), Roman (Brooke) Wright, Grace, Ruth and Jobe Flock; five great grandchildren; three sisters Mary (Arnold) Boban of Springboro, PA, Dorothy (Bud) Parish of California, and Bea Cunningham of Columbus.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Carl, Gerald, James, Richard, and Norman; and sisters Sara O’Neil, Ruth Kleve, Shirley Keppler, and Donna Johns.

A Memorial Service will be held Sunday October 11th at 2:00 PM at Park Street Christian Church, 97 Park Street in Geneva with Reverend Mark Hurban officiating. Interment will be at later date at Evergreen Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of CA Walker Funeral Home, Geneva.
