OBITUARIES

Surrounded by her loving family, Arlene McCracken, 85, was called to join the angels' choir on Monday, 7/22/19. Married to the love of her life, Frank McCracken, for 65 years, she worked at Geneva Telephone Co. as a telephone operator prior to becoming a full-time mom. She was a member of The United Church of Geneva, where she served as a Deaconess and member of the choir and bell choir. She was also a member of the Geneva Community Choir. She served her community volunteering at the local voting polls and for the American Red Cross, where she earned the 2008 Ashtabula Volunteer of the Year Award.

She enjoyed crocheting, ceramics, painting, gardening, traveling, and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her loving and devoted husband, Frank; children, James (Karen) McCracken of Humble TX, Vonda (Keith) Pennell of Hudson, NH and Brenda Erwin of Ashtabula; grandchildren Faith, Allen, Amy, Kilee, Jason, Jenna and Lindsey; and great-grandchildren Kira, Cody, Kayla, Carla, Frayja, Russell and Thalia.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mose and Alice Whitaker and baby sister, Nadine.

Calling hours: 6-8 p.m. 7/25/19 at Walker Funeral Home, 828 Sherman St, Geneva.

Memorial Service: 11 a.m. 7/26/19 at Walker Funeral Home with Rev. Bryan Manary officiating.

Interment will be at Harpersfield Cemetery.
