Gerald “Jerry” Atkinson slipped under on November 29, 2024 at his home from a stroke. He went to be with Jesus Christ.

Jerry was born September 22, 1942 to Austin and Louise (Kennedy) Atkinson at the old Geneva Hospital on South Broadway, Geneva, Ohio. He was a 1960 graduate of Geneva High School. He played four years in the high school band, clarinet in the marching band and tenor sax in the concert band.

Jerry was a navy veteran, serving 1960 – 1963. He was a yeoman and courier of classified documents. He retired in 2004 as a security officer with General Electric at NELA Park in East Cleveland, OH with a tad under 25 years.

Before that he drove tractor-trailer for 11 years, mostly with Diamond Shamrock Corp. As a high school kid, he worked before and after the service at Kennedy Funeral Home.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Lois Bosley; Sister: Jeannie (Atkinson) Oplinger (GHS Class of 1964); Niece: Kristen (Steve) Weishar; Rhonda (Sam) Lynch; Nephews: Michael (Not Yet) Hayes, Jeff Chalmers; Step-Son: Jonathan Samples, wherever he is.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial Service: Friday, December 27, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Geneva United Methodist Church, 89 S. Broadway, Geneva. Rev. Pam Buzalka officiating

Interment: Evergreen Cemetery, Geneva
