Obituary For Helen J. Stockwell

Together again, Helen J. Stockwell, age 88 passed away June 1, 2022 and was reunited with her late husband Frank Stockwell. She was born on September 28, 1933 in Geneva, Ohio and was a lifelong resident of Ashtabula County. Helen married Frank Stockwell on June 15, 1956 in Saybrook and they were blessed with over 60 years together. Together they managed and worked their dairy farm in Ashtabula County. When asked what she loved the most, she would always respond, “my life on the farm”. She lived every day as the best day of her life. She truly enjoyed the many close relatives and friends that would often stop by the farm to visit.

Helen graduated valedictorian from Austinburg High School in 1952. She enjoyed keeping current with the latest news/politics and continued her lifelong love for learning and reading. Often, she was found walking the property, truly enjoying the beauty of the land. She collected deer antlers and tended to her numerous flowers and trees that she had planted. She kept her beloved farm in immaculate condition, keeping the grass mowed, flower beds weeded, and barns painted. Helen also had a special place in her heart for Doberman Pinschers/Miniature Pinschers and always had one with her on the farm.

The family would like to thank all of her close relatives, friends and neighbors who have always taken the time to stop and visit and who have been so vital in watching out for her over the past several years. Also, many thanks to the staff at Saybrook Landing who took wonderful care of her and provided hours of comfort and joy. A special thank you to Betty Green for the exceptional care she gave to Helen.
