Obituary For James "Jim" B. O'Leary
James B. O'Leary 1966 - 2020
James B. “Jim” O’Leary, age 54, passed away suddenly on Sunday, October 11, 2020 in Geneva. Known as “Jim” to his friends, he was born on Saturday, January 15, 1966 to James and Judy (Smith) O’Leary in Cleveland. Jim had been a Geneva resident for the past 22 years. In 2003 Jim wed the love of his life, Susan Rose, in Las Vegas and they had shared 17 wonderful years together.
Always a hardworking man, Jim had been employed for the past 18 years as a planner/scheduler for Buyers Products in Mentor.
Jim was a devoted family man. He cherished spending time with his wife, kids and grandchildren. He was a good neighbor and always looked out for others. He also enjoyed, snowmobiling, gardening, swimming, fishing, target shooting, Nascar, rock music (but NO country) and he was a “jack of all trades”.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Susan of Geneva; children: Chelsea (Dorian) O’Leary-Willis of Mentor, Casey Otto of Ashtabula, Jimmy (Shawny) O’Leary Jr. of Barberton and Kelly (Ryan) Arkkelin of Josephine, TX; 5 grandchildren: Annabell, Liam, Judy and Theadora Willis. Jim was so excited that he was going to be a Grandpa again in March 2021 to “Baby Boy Arkkelin” (he joyfully announced that his baby was having a baby). He is also survived by his sister Jill (Michael) Fairbanks of Cosby, TN; Uncle Patrick (Patty) O’Leary of Florida; Aunt Pat Pusateri of Florida; many nieces, nephews, friends and his co-workers that affectionately called him “JIMO”.
Jim has now been reunited with his father whom passed in 2018, his mom whom passed in 2011 and his son Nick Otto who preceded him in 2019.
Jim had a great sense of humor and was truly a wonderful man. He made people feel welcome with his smile. He will be deeply missed by many.
Calling hours will be Friday, October 16, 2020 from 1:00- 3:00 pm and 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Walker Funeral Home, 828 Sherman Street in Geneva.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
