In Loving Memory of Janelle H. Cooper (Davis)

April 22, 1944 – June 22, 2026

With heavy hearts and profound love, we announce the passing of Janelle H. Cooper (Davis), who passed away peacefully on June 22, 2026, at the age of 82.

Born on April 22, 1944, to Harry Brown and Ila Brown (Marlett), Janelle lived a life defined by love, devotion, and family. She was a woman of quiet strength, unwavering kindness, and a generous heart. Those who knew her will remember her not only for what she did, but for the way she made people feel—loved, welcomed, and cared for.

While Janelle spent time working in factory settings during her younger years and later helped her husband, Dale, manage the office at Airdale Heating and Cooling, her life’s true work was caring for her family. She devoted herself wholeheartedly to being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, finding her greatest fulfillment in the people she loved. Whether offering a listening ear, celebrating life’s milestones, or simply being there when she was needed, Janelle made her family the center of her world.

Janelle found joy in life’s simple moments. An avid reader, she could often be found with a good book in hand, and she remained a loyal supporter of her beloved Cleveland sports teams throughout the years. She also loved to travel, especially to her family’s cherished vacation destination in Kissimmee, Florida, where countless memories were made with those she loved most. But no matter where she was, nothing brought her greater happiness than spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. The love she shared with them was the foundation of her life and the legacy she leaves behind.

Janelle’s faith in Jesus Christ was a guiding force throughout her life. She found comfort, strength, and hope in her relationship with the Lord, trusting Him through life’s joys and challenges alike. Her faith was reflected in the way she cared for others—with compassion, grace, and a servant’s heart. She believed in the promise of eternal life and found peace in knowing that this world was not her final home. While her family grieves her absence, they take comfort in the assurance that she is now at peace in the presence of her Savior.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry Brown and Ila Brown (Marlett); her husbands, Dale Cooper and Jeff Davis; and her brothers, Denny Brown and David Brown.

Janelle leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory: her children, Michael (Beatrice), Joe (Boni), Jim (Julie), and Marla (Joe).

She was the proud and loving grandmother of Ashlee (Mike), Jimmy, Sarah (Andy), Katelynn, Michael, Jacey, Julia, Charlie, Sammy, Joelle, and Cora.

Along with countless other adopted grandchildren.

She was also the cherished great-grandmother of Tristan, Gabbi, Marley-Jane, Makyla, Lily-Anna, Noah, Saydee, Hazel, Stevie, Lucas, Oakley, Irelynn, and Addison.

She is further survived by her beloved sister-in-law, Gayle Brown, along with many treasured nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Janelle’s life was not measured by titles or accomplishments, but by the love she gave so freely and the family she nurtured so faithfully. She was the heart of her family—a steady source of comfort, wisdom, laughter, and unconditional love. Her greatest achievement was not found in any workplace, but in the generations of children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who were blessed to know her love.

Though our hearts ache in her absence, we find comfort in the countless memories she leaves behind: the stories she shared, the encouragement she offered, the games she watched, the books she enjoyed, and the moments spent together that became life’s greatest treasures. Her love will continue to guide us, her memory will continue to comfort us, and her legacy will live on through all who knew and loved her.

Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye, you were bigger than the whole sky, you were more than just a short time.

Calling Hours will be on Friday, June 26, 2026 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Walker Funeral Home. Funeral Service will follow with Pastor Michael Morris of First Grace Gospel Church officiating.

Interment will be in Western Reserve Memorial Garden in Chesterland, Ohio.

A Celebration of her Life will be held at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #4423 at 6:00 PM.
