Obituary For Jeffrey C. Davis

Jeffrey Clair Davis passed away at his home on November 12, 2019 surrounded again and again by his loving family. A resident of Geneva Ohio since 1998. Jeff was born to Harley Clair Davis and Dorothy Lois (Hartley) Davis on September 1, 1946 in Ashtabula, Ohio. Jeff fought his fight against cancer as fiercely as he fought for his country as an Army Sergeant with the 25th Infantry Division in the Vietnam War, exposed to Agent Orange, ultimately leading to his illness.

Survived by his wife Janelle Cooper, 6 sons and 1 daughter. Chris (Suzi) Davis – SC; Scott (Ron) Davis – CT; Matt (Christy) Davis – Andover, OH; Michael (Beatrice) Cooper – NY; Joe (Boni) Cooper – Geneva, Oh; Jim (Julie) Cooper – Eastlake, OH; and Marla (Joe) Martello – Geneva, OH. Jeff is also survived by 3 sisters, Regran (Dr. Marvin) Leedy – Akron, OH; Dr. Heather Petrolla – Poland, OH; and Amanda (Gary) Sebrosky – Avon Lake, OH. He had 17 grandchildren: Ashlee (Mike), Jimmy (Rachel), Kristen (Tyler), Sarah (Andy), Michael Cooper, Chelsey, Katelynn, Jacey, Julia, Joelle, Charlie, Sammy, Cora, Macey, Paige, Haley, and Michael Davis. As well as 11 great grandchildren: Tristan, Marley, Makyla, Noah, Lily, Saydee, Caleb, Vivian, Eve, Alana, and Gabbi. He is also survived by Gloria Davis of Kinsman, OH, the mother of his 3 biological sons. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Jeff was loved by many and a good friend to everyone he knew. He attended First Grace Gospel for many years and was a firm believer in Jesus Christ as his savior. He volunteered with Geneva Little League Grandparents Club and Geneva Gridiron Club. Jeff was incredibly intelligent and had a wealth of information about every subject imaginable. He was a World War II buff, loved music and movies, was an avid fantasy football player and enjoyed skydiving for a brief period in his younger years. Jeff and his family owned a dairy farm (Davishire Farms) in Kinsman, OH. He was a graduate of Badger High (Kinsman, OH) and attended THE Ohio State University out of high school and in later years he attended Lakeland’s paralegal program.

Calling hours will be held at Walker Funeral Home, 828 Sherman Street, Geneva, OH on Friday, November 15, 2019 from 2:00 – 4:00 and Saturday, November 16, 2019 4:00 – 6:00 with the funeral directly afterward with Pastor David Adams, of First Grace Gospel officiating. Graveside service at Williamsfield Cemetery to be held at a later date. Geneva VFW Post 6846 Color Guard will be rendering Military honors on Friday at 3:00 PM.
