It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John D. Williams, who tragically lost his life in a plane crash on July 21, 2024 in Harpersfield Township in Ashtabula County. John was a passionate aviator who discovered his love for flying at a young age.
Born in Geneva, Ohio on October 25, 1948, he was a son of Nathan and Eva (Koblek) Williams. John was the owner of Titan Aircraft, which is renowned for building replica P-51 Mustang airplanes. When he wasn’t in the cockpit, John was an avid traveler, always eager to explore new places where he made countless memories and friends. At home, John enjoyed a fine glass of local wine and shared a special bond with his Boston Terriers.
Along with his extended family and friends, cherishing his memory and vibrant life are his children: John “Jay” (Sheryl) Williams Jr and Penny (Chuck) Boyette; Grandchildren: Ryan, Jarred, Chase, Jack and Garrett; Sister: Judy Dalin and the love of his life, Linda Sue Belden.
He was preceded by his parents (Nathan and Eva Williams), Siblings: Nathan Williams, DeAnn Gleason, Amy Joy Christy, Marianne Saari and Patty Gramoy.
His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

For JW, the Titan A sky so blue, Endless, Boundless. Earth dissolving, Breathless, Groundless. The wind rider flies, Wings of wonder stretched. With every glide, Every climb, Defy the gods, Untouched. And just like Icarus so close to the sun, Falls, Denied. But, Oh - How he has tasted the sky!

Even though we haven't seen each other in a very long time, you never left our hearts. Many times you were thought about. See your smile or hear your voice or remember only the laughs we had together. Shame life gets in the way. Never was the same without us all together. But until we meet again we know you're reuniting and catching up with your Mom and family. We always loved you. Dave and Carole

To Sue and all of John's family: my sincere condolences to all. May god comfort you in every way. John, Sue and I have been dear friends since high school. He was a bit a of a dare devil back then when we and a couple other friends raced his car on route 84 several times nearly flying off the road was crazy stuff. The last time we finished the 84 run, he was driving me home, we turned into my driveway, and as he turned the wheel, the right front tire broke off the axle. Wow , god was with us that day! And I'm sure god had intervened over the years since. For some reason god needed him that fateful day and he is at peace. Why good people leave us early is a mystery, but I believe with all my heart he is one of gods angels with permanent wings looking over us. God bless you all and be safe.🙏🏻 John Pfeifer

I am a classmate of Sue's and John's. Please accept my condolences on this heartbreaking loss. It takes a long time for memories to bring a smile instead of a tear. May this time pass quickly so your good memories can begin to fill this terrible void. With loving thoughts. Liz Sims

Taking comfort, during this tough time, in remembering the great sense of humor John had. His smile and laughter will be missed. "The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed." | Psalm 34:18
