OBITUARIES

John Robert Burkholder, 89, of Geneva, went to be with the Lord, August 13, 2021. he graduated from Geneva High School in 1950, Ohio Northern University in 1954, before serving in the US Army for 2 years. In his employment, John worked as a pharmacist.

He married Mary Anne Kerns in 1957, and they had two sons, Richard Lee and Gary Alan. Community involvement included Jaycees, American Legion, and especially the United Church. Activities such as Sunday School Superintendent, serving as a committee man for Boy Scouts of America, camping, hiking, and gardening occupied his spare time.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-four years, Sons: Richard (Jeanette), Gary (Jacquelyn); Brother: Gordon; Grandchildren: Eric (LaVonne); Daniel (NaYeun); Hannah (Shafer); Sarah and Matthew; Great Grandchildren: Ethan; Caleb; Madeline; Evelyn and Finley; Brothers-in-Law, Sisters-in-Law, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his Parents: Harry Pollard Burkholder and Helen Bowler Burkholder, Sister: Mary Jean Mann and husband Tom; Sister-in-Law: Marie Burkholder.

Calling Hours will be Monday, August 16, 2021 from 6:00-8:00 PM, Walker Funeral Home, 828 Sherman St., Geneva

Funeral Service: 11:00 AM, Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at The United Church with Pastor Bryan Manary officiating, followed by interment at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville.
