OBITUARIES

Kenneth A. Courtney of Thompson, age 86, passed away Thursday October 1, 2020 at UH Geneva Medical Center. The son of the late Albert C. and Clover P. (White) Courtney, who was born on November 6, 1933 in Cleveland Hts., Ohio.

On June 8, 1964 in Bedford, Ohio he wed Shirley E. Robinson and together they raised two children.

Prior to his retirement he had worked as an electrician with Penn Central / Conrail New York Central. He also had worked at Richmond Hts. Hospital and Madison Health Care.

Kenneth was a member of the Volunteer Trumbull Fire Department and the Northeast Ohio Soap Box Derby. He enjoyed CB radio’s (his CB name was Papa Tigger), big band music, Kingston Trio, playing the sax, fixing things, rifle & pistol shooting, photography and the Bill O’Reilly Show.

He will be deeply missed by his wife Shirley; Children Kristina (Doug) Johnston of Jefferson and Andrew (Tracie) Courtney of Mesopotamia; Grandchildren Jim Batanian, Krista, Andrew, John and Taylor Courtney.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Clover Clementi.

Per Kenneth’s wishes no funeral service will be observed.
