Obituary For Kris Reynolds Tetrick
Kris Reynolds Tetrick, born May 13, 1943, in Madison, Wisconsin, to Doril Martin and Mary Elizabeth Tetrick, passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2026, in Miami, Florida.
From an early age, Kris possessed an entrepreneurial spirit and a deep sense of purpose. After graduating from Euclid High School in 1961, he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. His service took him first to Texas for training and then to South Korea, where, through specialized training at Yale University, he became a Korean interpreter. He went on to complete several years of sensitive intelligence work, a chapter of his life marked by discipline, dedication, and pride.
Kris eventually returned to the United States with his beloved wife, Tsuruko Tetrick (deceased 2020), and their son, Johnny Tetrick (deceased 2022). Family was the center of Kris’s life, and everything he built—both personally and professionally—was rooted in providing for and being present for those he loved. In Cleveland, Ohio, he devoted himself to his community as a firefighter and later as a construction business owner, building homes and installing roofs that remain standing today as a testament to his craftsmanship and work ethic. He was the owner and operator of the Grand River Manor for many years, making it a go-to place in Austinburg. He also ran the Corner Bar where it served the "world's best hamburger"
In retirement, Kris embraced life with the same passion he had always shown. He spent cherished years on Kelley’s Island and in Key West, finding joy in painting, wood carving, fishing, and time on the ocean. His happiest moments were often spent alongside his son and his three adored granddaughters, Falon, Regan, and Eden Tetrick. He was a devoted and proud grandfather, creating memories filled with laughter, creativity, and love.
Kris is survived by his treasured great-granddaughter, Bryleigh Rose Tetrick; his caring and attentive girlfriend Anita Keith; his sisters Dawn Thomas (Ken), Sybil Collier (Patrick), Vicki Clark (Curtis), and Martina Love (James), numerous nieces and nephews.
Known for his gift of storytelling and his ever-ready sense of humor, Kris had a way of making people feel welcomed. He was deeply loved, and his legacy lives on through the family he cherished so dearly. He will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
