Obituary For Lisa M. Krihwan-Larbig

Lisa (Krihwan) Larbig
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Lisa Larbig on July 27, 2025, at the age of 53.
Lisa was born on March 4, 1972, in Madison, Ohio, a daughter of Herbert and Patricia Krihwan.

She lived a life marked by compassion, strength, and deep devotion to her friends and family.
She loved her family, and every person she met immediately became family to her. She could put
a smile on a weeping willow, and whenever a friend or a laugh was needed, she was there.
Lisa was the proud and loving mother of five children—Megan Gradomski, Jaide Krihwan,
Patrick Krihwan, Gabrielle Larbig, and Jessica Sands—whom she lived her life for.

She was a cherished grandmother to four beautiful grandchildren: Jocelyn, Jaimie, Logan, and
Clayton. She was also a beloved aunt to three wonderful nieces and one wonderful nephew:
Bridget, Maureen, Lily, and Robert. Lisa shared a close bond with her brother and sister, Daniel
and Monica Krihwan, who stood by her through every chapter of life.

Lisa had found the love of her life, Matt Sands, and shared countless memories with him at her
side for the last fifteen years. With the same boundless passions for life, they shared all hobbies
together.
She enjoyed being outdoors, camping, and gardening whenever and wherever she could. Her
summers were lived to the fullest with golden sun-kissed skin by endless hours in her pool,
garden, and campsite at Hide-Away Lakes in Ashtabula, Ohio. Lisa found so much joy in music;
singing and dancing would make her heart shine brighter than the sun. She loved shopping in all
forms, from thrifting to going to garage sales and hitting the Bargain Bin’s store on dollar days.
Lisa was one to throw herself into any crafty idea that crossed her mind. As one of Ashtabula
County League’s top players, Lisa shot a mean game of Billiards and retired after winning
multiple trophies. She served as an auxiliary trustee of the F.O.E. for several years. She treasured
cooking many of her mother’s recipes for esteemed club members. Her favorite pastime was
dedicating her time to any club event. Above all else, Lisa would enjoy spending quality time
with her friends and family.

Lisa touched the lives of everyone who had the honor of knowing her. Her selflessness, warmth,
and generous spirit will be remembered forever. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and
compassion that lives on in all of us.

Words cannot express deepest sympathy for the family members.May God bless all of you with comfort in this heartbreaking time. Rest in peace Lisa. I am standing upon the seashore. A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength. I stand and watch her until at length she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other. Then, someone at my side says; "There, she is gone!" "Gone where?" Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as she was when she left my side and she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port. Her diminished size is in me, not in her. And just at the moment when someone at my side says, "There, she is gone!" There are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout; "Here she comes!" And that is dying.
