Obituary For Marlene Sue Harchalk

Marlene S. Harchalk, age 71, passed away unexpectedly at home May 2, 2024. Born August 19, 1952 in Clarksburg, WV, she was a daughter of Edward and Stella (Cross) Huggins. Marlene married Jeffrey Harchalk in Jefferson on September 2, 1972 and they spent 44 years together.

She spent many years working at the family business, Johnny’s Farm Market. She then worked at Fashion Bug and Big Lots before retiring as Property Manager for Villas of Geneva and Sunset West Apartments. Marlene loved spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed watching her soap opera General Hospital, sipping Jose Cuervo and loved her cats.

Survived by her children, Jennifer (Jerrett) Cecil; Jody Harchalk; and Jeffrey (Katie) Harchalk, all of Geneva; Grandchildren: Jeffrey Metz, Colton, Morgan, Lance, Blake, and Jackson Harchalk. Her brother in law; Jerry (Terri) Harchalk and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jeff; Son, Jordan; Sister: “Patricia Dawn” Supplee and a granddaughter; Stella Cecil.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 9, 2024 from 3:00 – 6:00 PM at Walker Funeral Home, 828 Sherman Street, Geneva. At 6:00 PM, the family would like everyone to share their fondest memories of Marlene.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor, may be made to Winky Cats Adoption, 1014 W. Main Court, Geneva and APL, 5970 Green Road, Ashtabula.

    Sympathy to the family of Marlene. We knew Marlene as a fun and very sociable person who cared about the tenants at Sunset West. She did above and beyond her duties as a Property Manager, making each of us feel special. God Bless.
