I fondly remember Mr. Hawes driving his family and I (and often my sister) to Church on Sundays. One of my favorite memories from my youth is when Mr. Hawes took Mike and I camping at the Kinzua dam. On the ride home, he and Mike were 'fighting' for the radio, Mike kept finding a particular pop song and Mr. Hawes was frowning and grumping about it at first, but near by what must have been the 4th or 5th time that Mike found that same song playing, Mr. Hawes was humming to it and we were all laughing, just one of many lovely memories of a wonderful father and husband, a role-model really.

Fun memories of Mr. Hawes. He and his wife along with myself and my husband cheered on Mike and our son Steve, our daughter Pam and all that swam on the ymca otters swim team. Mike and Steve were in some of the same relay races. Mr.Hawes may you know that because of your time here the man, husband, father etc. you were will help everyone continue to cherish the memories and help them continue to live their lives in a way that makes you proud and shows how much you loved each other. With in them your legacy lives on.
