Michael J. Hopkins 1966 ~ 2021

Michael James Hopkins died accidentally May 22, 2021. He was born February 6, 1966 in Madison, Ohio. Michael was the son of Norman and Roberta (Shepard) Hopkins in Geneva, Ohio.

He leaves his daughter Erin (Haydn) Simmen of Alaska and son Mathew Michael Hopkins of Ashtabula; his ex-wife, the mother of his children, Tina Hopkins of Ashtabula; and his girlfriend Jill Nopio and her son Justin Luebke both of Jefferson. Surviving him are his parents and brothers Dale (Terrie) Hopkins from Norwalk, Ohio and Jess (Debbie) Hopkins from Columbus Ohio and sister Linda DeVito from Charleston, SC; his Aunt Graceann Summers from Geneva, Uncle Richard (MaryJane) Shepard of York, SC and many cousins.

Michael was employed by HDT in Harpersfield, Ohio for many years. He was good with his hands, making innovative repairs and the guy the family relied on to repair something. He will be sorely missed.

He liked country music and singing duets with his daughter. He and his son enjoyed four wheeling, target shooting and watching TV. Michael was also a member of the FOE in both Geneva and Jefferson.
