Obituary For Patricia (Patty) Ann Meeks
Patricia Ann Meeks (Patty) April 27, 1968 - December 28, 2020
Patricia Ann Meeks, 52 years old, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 28, 2020. Patricia was known by "Patty" to all that she called friends and family, which were many. It has been said that Patty never knew a stranger; she made friends with people wherever she was. Her heart was so beautiful and loving, she was always offering her home to those in need and would give anyone whatever she had to help.
Patty is survived by her lifelong companion and best friend David Shell, who was by her side for over 20 years. Patty would say that he was her "soul mate" and before she went home to be with the Lord she told him "I love you more than you will ever know." Patty is also survived by her sister Kathleen Rice and her brother Gregory Meeks, both of Geneva, Ohio. She had many nieces and nephews whom she loved so much including Orville, Angela, Michael, Kimberly, Daniel, and Gregory. Patty loved her great nieces and nephews as well including Danielle, Kristie, Ashlee, Michael, Joshua, Aidan, Abigail, and Amara. Patty was preceded in death by her mother and father Alice and Daniel Meeks, her sister Karen Leonard, her brother in law Orville Rice Sr., as well as many aunts and uncles.
Patty will be missed by her family who could always count on her to listen, love, and cheer them on them on. Her laughter was so contagious and her soul so very sweet. There are so many memories of laughter with Patty that her nieces and nephews will hold so close to their hearts. She was our biggest cheerleader and defender in times of trouble. She was often seen leaving encouraging posts to her nieces and nephews on Facebook and always there to offer a helping hand when there were parties or engagements. Patty was a "Cowboys" fan and could found watching the game and rooting them on every year. She loved arts and crafts and devoted her time to making things that other people could enjoy. Patty had the sharpest memory and would often recall funny memories that others had forgotten. She loved her doggy Daisy with all her heart and enjoyed her company. Patty was very good at discerning when someone was hurting or needing comfort and would often be the first one to ask what was wrong and to encourage them with prayers. She loved Jesus so much and had faith that He was always working things out for her good, even in her suffering she would say that she knew He had her. She had a special place in her heart for two pastors who she felt offered her love, counsel, and prayer which were Pastor Sandy and Pastor Dave. Her last request was for her family to love each other, spend more time together, get baptized, and live for the Lord.
A celebration of life service will be held later in 2021 for all and will be announced at that time. Arrangements are with Walker Funeral Home in Geneva, Ohio. The family is asking those of you who would like to send condolences or help with burial expenses to send your love gift to the family addressed to:
Kimberly Rockwell 534 W. Riverview Dr. Austinburg, Ohio 44010.
