Obituary For Richard Karran

Richard “Dick” Karran of Geneva passed away August 21, 2023, just shy of his 92nd birthday. He was born August 24, 1931 to Richard and Bertha (Miller) Karran, Dick spent his early years between Cleveland (where he was born) and Geneva, graduating from GHS in 1951. He worked second shift as a machinist at TRW for over 26 years. After retirement, Dick enjoyed his cats, scenic drives around Geneva, wildlife and birdwatching, spending time with his two grandchildren, eating cookies and ice cream, and telling stories of his youth and Navy experiences.

Dick will fondly be remembered by his son Bentley (Cheryl) Karran, grandchildren Tyler and Tessa Karran, sister-in-law Joanne (Joe Nolan) Goodell, nieces Vera (Mark) Shafer, Elvira Gawne, and Jaye (Chris) Athy, and nephew Clay (Melissa) Nielsen.

He was predeceased by his wife, Blythe; Sisters: Eleanor (Edwin) Gawne and Evalyn (Ruffy) Heikkinen and Sister-in-Law Arlene (Eric) Nielsen.

A private family burial at sea will be held at a later date.
