Obituary For Richard Michael Mirauntz

Richard M. Mirauntz 1940 ~ 2021

Richard M. Mirauntz, age 81, passed away May 2, 2021 in Jefferson. Born January 27, 1940 in Geneva, he was a son of Emil and Sally (Burgett) Mirauntz. Richard graduated from Collinwood High School in Cleveland. Richard worked for Hillcrest Hospital for 18 years and Ashtabula County Medical Center for 5 years. He moved to Trumbull Township and ran a dairy farm for about 15 years. Later he raised chickens and sold the eggs.

He was a founding member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church and sang in the choir. Richard also held Sunday services in his barn, followed by picnics at his dairy farm. He hosted hay rides for the kids. Richard was on the cooking crew and organized the St Nicholas Church Booth at the Geneva Grape Jamboree.

Richard enjoyed ice skating, Polka and Slovenian dancing, cooking and baking the recipes from the old country. He always had dogs and cats. Richard enjoyed flower gardening and was always ready to travel and find new wineries or find that place that made the best home-made breads and desserts. At Christmas time he took pride in decorating an enormous Christmas tree.
