Obituary For Robert Park

Robert S. Park, age 76, passed away February 16, 2024 in his home, surrounded by his family. Born April 16, 1947 in Geneva, he was a son of Lawrence and Lillian (Amsden) Park. Bob spent his life doing many things. He was active duty in the military during the Vietnam War where he served for 3 years. He married his wife Patricia Valenzo on October, 8th 1971 and spent 52 years happily married. He was a line operator at Avery Dennison for 30 years. He was co-owner of Bob’s Video Production where he filmed multiple weddings, fires, and Polar Bear Plunges along side his wife. He was very active in the community. He served 15 years as a Geneva Fireman and at the end of his career, was video-taping the fires for training purposes. He was an active member of the Geneva Kiwanis Club and coached a Midget League Football team named after his favorite team the Cleveland Browns. He enjoyed playing football and in fact was on the very first Geneva Midget League Team.

Bob had many interests during his life. He loved rebuilding cars including his ‘65 Red Mustang and his “Tow Mater”, inspired by the movie Cars. He enjoyed showing off his cars at local car shows and even won multiple awards. He built a miniature railroad set in his garage and enjoyed watching his grandchildren blare the horns. The Thousand Islands in New York was his second home. He spent many 4th of July’s fishing and deer spotting with his family. He had a talent for music and enjoyed singing and playing his instruments for anyone who would listen. Towards the last decade of his life he found a love for building birdhouses and tormenting his grandchildren. He will be remembered as a loving man who truly adored his family. He will be missed by many.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife: Patricia; Children: Thomas (Merdith) Malisher; Mychaelane (Stewart) Dowd; Khris Park; and Shaun (Jennifer) Park. 12 grandchildren: Laken (Ahmed) Mohamed-Dowd; Tyler Anderson; Zachary Dowd; Mackenzie and Mikayla Park; Miranda, Mackenzie, Rhianna, Sabella, Jessie, Carlie and Candace Malisher.

He was preceded in death by siblings: Richard “Dick” Park, Phyllis Martin, Helen Willis, and his Parents.

A Celebration of Bob’s Life will be held on February 29th, 2024 at Walker Funeral Home, 828 Sherman St., Geneva from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.

Military Honors performed by Geneva VFW Post #6846 Color Guard will be at 6:00 PM with the service to follow.

Geneva Fire Department will be honoring Mr. Park with the last call at the end of the service.

Contributions in his memory may be made to the Geneva Fire Department McCroden Training Center.
