Obituary For Susan Renee O'Leary

Susan R. O’Leary, age 58, passed away suddenly April 29, 2024 in Ashtabula. Born November 17, 1965 in Geneva, she was a daughter of Wilmer “John” and Sharon (Taylor) Rose, Jr. Sue lived all of her life in Geneva and married James O’Leary in Las Vegas on July 8, 2003. She loved her family, and was described as a compassionate, giving and loving woman. She made friends with her elderly neighbors and liked baking and crafting.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Casey; Siblings, Kim Lambert of Geneva and John Rose of Mansfield; Step-Siblings: Sam Butler; Shane (Sara) Butler of Saybrook; Bobbi Jo (Tim) Palte of Geneva and Step-Mom; Lynne Rose of Saybrook; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Preceded by: Husband: James; Son: Nick; Parents: Sharon Montero and Wilmer Rose Jr.

Visitation: Friday, May 3, 2024 at Walker Funeral Home, 828 Sherman St., Geneva from 4:00 – 6:00 PM. A short service will immediately follow.

Donations in her honor may be made to Maddox and Friends Cat Rescue, Harbor Cat Rescue, Winky Cats or Holy Cat Rescue.

    I met Sue and her family as toddlers growing up in the same neighborhood and continued to keep in touch as much as possible. What a wonderful family. She will certainly be missed by everyone who had the chance to meet her.

    I met Sue in the 7th grade. We were in band together. She was pure sunshine and sweetness. Her smile could light up a room. Her laughter and love of life was contagious. Some of the fondest memories I had in marching band included Sue. The world is a little less bright without her.
