Obituary For Trena Mae Scheuring-Watts

Trena’s angels flew in and carried her from this earth (on Wednesday, October 27, 20201) and delivered her to Father’s Home above, where we’ll meet up again. They brought her to earth November 16, 1947, born to Grace (Ream) and Jim Scheuring in Painesville, Ohio. They raised her with 3 other daughters in Thompson and Perry, Ohio. Trena took to the country life joyfully as a little girl and loved nature. She cared for every creature and as an adult tried to take care of everything that came to her door, including a rooster, which stayed forever.

Trena married in 1965 and bore her son Mark in November 1966. She worked various jobs when she became single again and eventually moved to Ashtabula County. She completed a 4-year nursing program in 2 years, graduating from Kent State in 1980. Trena worked at several nursing home locally and became Director of Nursing at Broadway Home and Esther Marie Nursing Home in Geneva. The residents adored her, as she was extremely loyal to them. She fought many battles on their behalf and her co-worker’s behalf.

Trena married David Watts in the late 1980’s. They had a sweet country home in Kingsville and in 1998 they moved to Wyoming then onto Arizona where she worked as a nurse until she fell victim to a stroke which gradually left her unable to carry out her career. But she did whatever she could with strong conviction because she loved her Lord & Savior. While in Ohio she attended Plymouth United Methodist Church and First Assembly of God in Austinburg.

Trena loved music. From a tiny little girl, she loved the Sunday School songs we sang and she loved to hear her mom on the guitar or the organ and her dad on the harmonica. She sang in a small local group for a short while in the mid 70’s, belting out Brenda Lee, Janis Joplin and Grace Slick tunes. Among her top favorites were the Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Jefferson Airplane, Jackson Browne, Bob Seger & Bob Dylan.

Trena has been flown from Arizona to Ohio where she will be laid to rest beside her parents in Maple Grove Cemetery in Thompson. Graveside Services will be held Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at 1:00pm with the Reverend James Watts of the Good News United Baptist Church officiating. Friends please come.

Trena was preceded in death by her Parents; two sisters Penny Thomas and Sally Greenwall; stepmother Pearl Scheuring; 4 uncles and 2 aunts.

Left here to cherish her memories are her husband David; son Mark (Jennifer) Kinkead; 3 grandchildren Adam (Cindi) Kinkead, Lauren (Travis) Cooper and Devin Kinkead; 2 great grandsons Joshua and Jacob, all of Arizona; sister Sue (Bob) Rose of Geneva; brother Jim (Kathy) Scheuring of Ashtabula, sister Juanita York; and her dear friend Bonnie Osborne of Geneva.
