OBITUARIES

William E. Tome Sr., age 88, of Geneva, passed June 8, 2022

William was born July 15, 1933 in Buffalo, NY, the son of Harvey & Mary (McGloughlin) Tome and he had been an area resident for 60 plus years. He married Verna McCracken on April 21, 1957 and they cherished over 58 years of marriage before her passing in 2015.

William was in the US Army and served during the Korean War. A hard worker, he retired from Elkem Metals in Ashtabula. He was a member of the VFW & Eagles in Geneva, an avid sportsman and fisherman, and enjoyed music and dancing. William especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his sons Daniel of Painesville and William (Kym) of Ashtabula, Grandchildren Daniel Jr, Taunya, Bryce and Gage, 5 great-grandchildren and siblings Jim & Rebecca.

He was preceded by wife Verna, grandson Austin, parents and 3 sisters.

No service will be observed at this time.
